Please note that all our First Aid courses will include Automated Defibrillation training starting with the 1st of January 2017 in accordance with the Guidelines of the Resuscitation Council and legislation.

NEW CHANGES IN THE LAW FOR SCHOOLS:
We are delighted that the Department of Education has announced that First Aid will be compulsory as of September 2020 and will be taught in both primary and secondary schools as part of their curriculum.
To help with this we are now offering to schools FREE BASIC FIRST AID for a classroom of 30 pupils if they book any of our accredited courses with us for a minimum of 6 teachers or members of staff.

Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) (EFAW): This is a qualification which enables learners to give emergency first aid to someone who becomes ill at work. This particular award is suited to working environments that have minimum hazards along with a low number of employees. It is equally similar for the refresher. This course is ideal for a person who has an office based job or for a library, shop, retail, etc.

This first aid course qualification is assessed via practical demonstration and oral questioning as well as a small 10 question multiple choice test - all will be covered through the length of the course - all questions must be answered correctly
Every candidate will obtain a certificate and a detailed card that states the newly achieved qualification Emergency First Aid at Work (approx. 2 weeks). This is valid for a period of 3 years and, in order to re-qualify, learners must attend a refresher course.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) (FAW): This includes all the features of EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) and also equips learners with the first aid knowledge and skills to tend a range of specific injuries and illnesses. This particular award is most suited to working environments that have a high hazard count and/or high numbers of employees. If you are working in a managerial position, have a job on a building site, or in the construction industry, then by law you must attend this course. If you are looking to work as a close protection operative, you will need this course in order to apply for your CP licence. This course is also suitable for factory workers, manufacturers, warehouse, engineers, etc.
*NEW - Distance learning now available where attendance is only mandatory on the 1st day of the 3 days course, you will be given log on details and will be required to complete the rest of the course subjects at home in maximum 6 weeks. **Access to a computer and broadband connection are required.

The First Aid at Work course qualification is typically achieved through a 3-day class-room based training course and for requalification this is reduced to 2-days.
The qualification is assessed via practical demonstration and oral questioning as well as a 25 multiple choice question test - all will be covered through the length of the course
Certificates for successful learners will be ready approx. 1-2 weeks, sent byb recorded 1st class post. This qualification lasts for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to resit the course which can be adjusted to a 1 day course. All candidates will receive a First Aid book in pdf and a First Aid learner pack. If for any reason you are not able to make it on any of the second or the third day of the course, you will be able to reschedule provided you do this within 6 months from the date of the initially chosen course.
For the Refresher First Aid at Work course with an in date certificate please book below, the attendance is mandatory for 2 days. If your First Aid certificate is expired you may not be a nominated first aider and you will have to take the 3 day course due to the legislative requirements.
Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)This first aid course qualification provides theoretical and practical training in first aid techniques that are specific to infants aged 0 to 1, and children aged from 1 year old to the onset of puberty. You will need this 2 day training course certification if you are looking register with Ofsted. Learners will become familiar with the role of the paediatric first aider and be able to assess and react appropriately to an emergency situation such as a child or an infant who:

There must be at least one person on outings who has a current paediatric first aid certificate. Our Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid course is recognized as a qualification that fulfils this need.
PRICE - £95/candidate for distance learning £85/candidate
This award typically involves a 2 day course. For the distance learning method, only 1 day in the classroom is required to cheive the accredited certificate.
This qualification is assessed through practical and oral questioning through the duration the course by the tutor with a 25 multiple questions examination to be completed correctly, qualifies you for certification. All the test questions will be thoroughly covered through out the course. Learners must practically demonstrate the application of the correct techniques in all the First Aid areas indicated within the learning outcomes of the unit.
Certificates for successful learners will be dispatched for distribution in due course (approx. 1 week) by the Centre. Successful learners will also receive a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification. This Paediatric First Aid Course qualification lasts for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to resit/refresh. All candidates receive a First Aid pack and a Paediatric First Aid book.

SCHOOLS ALLOWED TO HOLD AND PURCHASE AUTO-INJECTORS:
From 1 October 2017, schools in England will be allowed to purchase adrenaline auto-injector (AAI) devices without a prescription, for emergency use on children who are at risk of anaphylaxis but whose own device is not available or not working.

SCHOOLS ALLOWED TO HOLD AND PURCHASE INHALERS:
From 1 October 2014 UK schools will be allowed to purchase a salbutamol inhaler without a prescription for use in emergencies when a child with asthma cannot access their own inhaler.
