Who is this qualification for?
It is recommended for any new or existing first-aiders in the workplace who have access to the use of an automated defibrillator. Learners gaining this qualification will know that cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation form an essential part of the chain of survival. The topics covered are regarded by Skills for Health as being important in maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation.

How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake approximately 4-5 hours of learning. The course typically takes place between 9.30am-1.00pm.
Assessment method:
This qualification can be assessed by a practical demonstration and written as well as oral questioning.
The certificates for successsful learners will be dispatched within 2 weeks from the date of the course. The awarding body for this accredited qualification is HABC.

These include be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally, be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally, know how to safely use an automated external defibrillator and be able to safely use an automated external defibrillator.
Upon the successful completion of this qualification, learners may wish to continue their development via the completion of any of the following signposted qualifications/training Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF);
